On September 16, the "Chasing the China Dream • Overseas Media Spotlight on Liaoning" 2026 interview tour for overseas Chinese-language media was officially launched in Dalian. The event was guided by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC) and jointly organized by the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Liaoning Provincial Journalists Association.

Representatives from 17 overseas Chinese-language media outlets across 12 countries and regions—including the United States, Canada, South Korea, and Australia—along with 5 central media organizations, gathered in Dalian to witness Liaoning's revitalization and development, and to document and share the story of Liaoning in the new era. Attendees at the launch ceremony included Li Jianbo, Level-2 Inspector of the General Office of the ACFROC; An Jianye, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Zhou Qin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Dalian Municipal Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department; and Yao Guangan, Secretary-General of the Liaoning Provincial Journalists Association.
In his opening remarks, An Jianye extended a warm welcome to all media friends who had traveled from afar.
He stated that this event represents a concrete action by the federations of returned overseas Chinese at all levels to study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on overseas Chinese affairs, to put into practice the guiding principles of the National Conference on Overseas Chinese Affairs, and to foster coordinated efforts across the system.
Overseas Chinese-language media serve as a bridge connecting China and the rest of the world. An Jianye expressed his hope that media friends would take this event as an opportunity to perceive, through the "Liaoning window," the vibrant practices of Northeast China's revitalization and development—to be witnesses of Liaoning's revitalization, objectively conveying the province's dynamic progress to the international community; to be storytellers of Liaoning, capturing the pulse of the times and the human touch of its development, so that Liaoning's stories are vivid, relatable, and full of warmth; and to be facilitators of China-foreign cooperation, building a broad platform for dialogue and collaboration between Liaoning and the world, thus gathering mighty strength for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Zhou Qin noted that Dalian is currently at a critical juncture of accelerating its comprehensive revitalization. She expressed her hope that overseas Chinese-language media would, from an international perspective, comprehensively document Dalian's revitalization practices, and convey the city's locational advantages, industrial vitality, cultural charm, and development opportunities to every corner of the world. Through the narratives of media friends, she added, more overseas Chinese and business guests from home and abroad would be encouraged to visit Dalian for inspections, negotiations, and investment, sharing in the opportunities of Northeast China's revitalization.
Chen Lin, President of Canadian Souluo Magazine, spoke as a representative of the overseas Chinese-language media.
He stated that overseas Chinese-language media would explore Liaoning through an international lens, transforming what they see and hear during this trip into words and images that resonate with and are easily understood by overseas audiences. They will tell authentic and vivid stories of Liaoning's revitalization, helping the province broaden its channels for international cooperation.

At the launch ceremony, the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism delivered promotional presentations on the city.
