US Brain-Computer Interface Company Approved for First Long-Term Clinical Trial

2025/11/26 20:34:38

On November 26, Paradromics, a US-based brain-computer interface company, announced that its brain-computer interface (BCI) has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct its first long-term clinical trial. The trial will explore whether it can accurately detect neural activity when volunteers imagine hand movements, allowing them to control a computer cursor with their thoughts. Based on preliminary results, the trial may be expanded to 10 volunteers, who will receive two implants in the cerebral cortex to increase signal richness and cover more brain regions.
